Women Welfare Department Uttar Pradesh operates 13 Government Women's shelters and protection homes in the state for the safety and protection of women. Shelter is provided to victimised women who are to be presented for the desired evidence in the Indian Penal Code, women under the Protection of Domestic Violence Act, 2005, women in need of protection, and women who are suffering from stray moral crises. Free maintenance, education, health, clothing, accommodation, skill development training, etc. are arranged for women in these homes.
